1. What is ‘GAP PLACEMENT PROGRAMME’?
Taking part in a study/work GAP placement is one of the best experiences you
can have for your professional, as well as for your personal development. Experiencing
a foreign culture, and having to get organised in a foreign place, are very
good ways to broaden your horizons. And when applying for a job, some experience
abroad is often expected. Having a good knowledge of a second foreign language
makes you stand out against competitors and, in many cases, opens the door for
an interview. Do not hesitate joining one of our programmes. We offer fair prices
from £899 In Total!
GAP PLACEMENT PROGRAMME from Curso eG can:
• Inspire you to do something different or go somewhere new
• Help you have an experience that puts everything else into perspective
• Help in getting you experience in an area of interest
• Help fill in the part of the CV that really counts
• Use a foreign language
• Work together within a team to gain fantastic work experience
A short gap during the winter, spring or summer can be just like a gap year.
Short GAP periods have proven to be very beneficial. We believe that a short
GAP can change a lifetime. We run up to 6 GAP projects throughout the
year. These gap periods are designed to test the participants at all levels
as they combine study along with a fun creative work placement. Most participants
are between the ages of 18-30 and come from all different backgrounds; from
undergraduates, post graduates, to those taking a sabbatical or looking from
a break from their normal routine work life to learn a new skill and to do something
a little bit different. These placements are a lot of fun, but you also have
to be committed to learning as well as completing the work under strict time-scales.
2. What projects do we currently offer?
Guide project
Participants study German with experienced language teachers weekday mornings. All participants usually have varying levels to begin with, including
those that have no present knowledge of the language. During the afternoons
participants work together in a team to create a tourist guide aimed at students
visiting Berlin. The team works together as travel researchers/journalists
designing the guide, planning the layout, reporting, carrying out interviews,
writing and being involved in various fun excursions. Workshops are an essential
part along with team meetings. The work part of the project can be quite fast
paced. On completion each participants receives a copy of their published work
and it is distributed free to outlets where it will be noticed and is handed
out free to students visiting the city. We arrange lots of fun activities and
excursions which are incorporated within the guide booklet. In addition upon
satisfactory completion each participant receives the necessary papers as proof
of work experience.
Podcast filming project (not available in 2010/11)
This is a very similar project which again incorporates the language learning.
However this project is more geared to the filming side and a little less emphasis
on writing. Each participant receives a copy of all completed work, in addition
the podcasts will be online on a dedicated website. |
